Proceeds from the event will help fund two of Tim’s favorite charitable labor education initiatives:
Labor Education in SF Public Schools
The future workforce and next generation of leaders will have in the classroom instruction on labor history, economics, conflict resolution and bargaining. This will be delivered through the Labor in the Schools Project of the San Francisco Labor Council.
Pre-Apprentice Vocational Ed for the Trades
The San Francisco Building & Construction Trades Council is seeding a pre-apprenticeship program to help prepare San Franciscans to enter registered union apprenticeship and deliver a skilled and trained workforce to build the middle class.
Here is what people across the labor movement and beyond are saying about Tim:
Tim! wows! So many memories of strategy meetings with you around beaten up old tables at Local 2; testifying together at the Board of Supervisors; marching and chanting in the streets for workers rights. Appreciate your commitment to learning together how to cross the labor-community lanes and building stronger solidarity together to win for ALL workers. PROUD of our work together to raise wages, win improvements for workers lives, build real community partnerships with the city, and most importantly, build worker power and voice in SF. look forward to hearing how retirement goes for you! (thinking i may see you on the streets just as much if not more..!) in solidarity, Shaw San Liu (Chinese Progressive Association)
A warm and sincere thank you for your years of dedication to organized labor. It has been a pleasure working with you. Weinberg, Roger & Rosenfeld wishes you the best in your retirement!
Brother Paulson, all of us at BAC Local 3 wish you the very best in retirement. Thank you for your commitment to organized labor and representing all workers. I am thankful for the opportunity to work closely with you and to call you my friend for over 24 years. I appreciate you sharing your labor history knowledge and political acumen to help others build on their careers. As you journeyed to the top positions in San Francisco Labor, you never forgot where you came from, and that has served all San Francisco workers well. Congratulations Tim!
It's been an honor to work with you over the years. Thank you for everything, Tim. I'll see you on March 19th at 6pm!
Thank you for standing by workers no matter what. In the face of austerity and attacks on working families, you stood tall and fought for healthcare, rights to organize, minimum wages, and so many other important issues. On a personal note, thank you for your partnership and solidarity through our transitions. You have given so much of yourself personally to this movement and I wish you the best in retirement.
